Her Voice
Symposium on the impact of sexual violence on young women and girls
Event Summary

HER VOICE 2024 brought together women, girls, and advocates for a powerful and transformative day, hosted by Skye Alexandra House in partnership with London Metropolitan University. Aligned with this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Count Her In: Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment,” the symposium focused on raising awareness of the impact of sexual violence on women and girls and the barriers this creates to their education, career, and daily lives.
The event aimed to empower survivors to confront their trauma, rebuild their confidence, and explore opportunities for growth, while also providing a platform for healing and support. Through panel discussions, spoken word performances, workshops, and a fashion show, HER VOICE helped amplify the voices of women and girls, celebrate their resilience, and highlight the importance of accessible education and employment for survivors.
